Vacations
Regular full-time employees accrue three weeks (15 days) of paid
vacation for each year of active service during the first five years
of employment and four weeks (20 days) of vacation per year starting
the sixth year of employment. Vacation time accrues at the rate
of 10 hours per month during the first five years of employment
and at a rate of 13.3 hours per month starting the sixth year of
employment. Active service commences with an employee's first day
of work and continues thereafter unless broken by an unpaid leave
of absence or termination of employment. Regular part-time employees
normally scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week accrue vacation
on a prorated basis. Temporary employees do not accrue paid vacation.
An employee can accrue up to a maximum of two (2) times the yearly
vacation amount (six weeks (30 days) of pay for the first five years
of employment, and eight weeks (40 days) of pay starting the sixth
year of employment). Once this cap is reached, no further vacation
will accrue until some vacation is used. When some vacation is used,
vacation compensation will begin to accrue again. There is no retroactive
grant of vacation compensation for the period of time the accrued
vacation compensation was at the cap.
For further information on employee vacation and to read the company
policy regarding time off, please review the Employee Handbook on
the company intranet.
Sick Leave
The Company provides paid sick leave benefits to all regular full-time
and regular part-time employees for periods of temporary absence
due to medical appointments or illnesses or injuries, including
that of family members in some instances. Temporary employees are
not eligible for paid sick time. Regular full-time employees will
accrue sick time at a rate of six (6) hours per month for a total
of nine (9) days per year. Regular part-time employees will accrue
sick time on a prorated basis.
For further information on employee sick leave and to read the company
policy regarding time off, please review the Employee Handbook on
the company intranet.
Other Time Off Policies
For the companies' other time off policies, please review the most
recent edition of the Employee Handbook which can be found on the
